Joshua Hooberman, Ph.D.

New York Clinical Psychotherapist

Psychotherapy can help you develop the ability to make meaningful changes in your life and can help improve general happiness and well-being. Often times people seek psychotherapy for some of the following reasons:

...feeling held back from reaching one’s full potential

....struggling to navigate through life’s hurdles and challenges

...looking for more gratifying relationships

...curiosity to learn more about oneself

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice located in the heart of Manhattan. I have obtained a considerable breadth and depth of  psychotherapy experiences, having worked in a variety of settings across New York, and helping people with such concerns as the ones listed above.

Prior to my private practice work, I held faculty positions at the New York Harbor Veterans Affairs Medical Center and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at NYU Medical School Department of Psychiatry.

I typically employ a psychodynamic approach to help individuals develop insight into their interpersonal patterns and internal conflicts. However, I also offer an integrative perspective, meaning that I utilize skills from various schools of thought depending on each individual’s presenting concern.

I aim to provide a warm, supportive, and compassionate environment to foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Together we will work to help you develop the support and confidence to make meaningful life changes and find peace-of-mind.

If you have any questions or would like to set up an appointment for a consultation, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.
